In 2023, I was named as an Engineering Unleashed Fellow.  This fellowship is sponsored by the Kern Family Foundation to support engineering educators to allow them to work on an educational project of their own design.

This project seeks to identify improvements to the biomedical instrumentation laboratory course (BIOE415) through participatory action research. I will work closely with a team of students to apply KEEN's entrepreneurial mindset, design thinking, and the universal design for learning (UDL) to identify updates to the course and laboratory space with an emphasis on making it more inclusive for all students.  We will keep the same learning objectives and ensure all students can achieve those objectives. We will also identify updates to course materials and the space to more clearly incorporate learning goals related to KEEN 3Cs: curiosity, connections, and creating value.
